I hope that 2012 is the end…of lame excuses keeping me from my goals and dreams, of bad habits, of fake friends and laziness! In 2012 I hope to dance more, connect with people that are genuine, play more sports be kinder and happier, save money and help someone(s) life be better because I am in it! Happy New Year!

 

Mobile Blogging

So I’m going to see if I manage to blog better by adding an app to my phone. Seeing as I’m mostly on the move these days with uni, it may actually work. Fingers crossed

Friends

My good friend Faith rocked up for a week all the way from China! It was awesome to see her and spend some time with her chilling and having fun. I also got to see my lovely niece Anastasia and her family who were down here for a wedding. I once again was reminded of just how pleasant it can be to spend time with old friends who you know well and are comfortable with. New friends are exciting and fun and interesting, but for me nothing beats the warmth and comfort of long time friends.

Surviving Choir

As part of my Bachelor of Arts course, I am required to take two subjects a year that are outside the Arts discipline. Seeing as I am not a great fan of mathematics, science or commerce, I resorted to Music in my search for that elusive extra subject. One problem – I don’t play any musical instruments! I pressed on, refusing to accept defeat and stumbled upon Choir. Here it was! No experience necessary stated the class summary. Tuesday afternoon I rock up to Choir and find our music for the Semester – European Sacred Choral Music. Yes, I am now a part of choir that sight reads music, sings in Latin and somehow I am also in the soprano section….and I thought Choir would be a breeze. I’m sure it will be a fun experience, and, if I don’t break my voice, loads of fun as well. In the meantime, I’m just stumbling along hoping that I will learn by osmosis as the conductor is sure that us newcomers will. Wish me luck!
